David would go on to open The Bagel, a popular breakfast location on Stratfield Road (Route 59). He also owned and operated Exeter Land & Title LLC, and worked for McHugh & McKeon Law Firm, Southern CT Electric (Mentor Jay Stavola), and Henry Real Estate. David had a love for restaurants, cooking, entertaining, comedy, visiting Nantucket with his cousin, Jaime, and Las Vegas with his cousin, John. David took great pleasure in socializing and was a member of the Romanian Social Club Fellows and the Gaelic-American Club in Fairfield. Nothing was more important to David than family. For him, family and friends always came first. He made many strong bonds and friendships over the years and loved helping them. He was a fun loving man and his character certainly reflected as such. Shaw, of Westerly, RI, Mary-Ann Ondy, her husband, Edward, and their son, Alex, of Milford, Jo-Ann Friberg, of Milford, Christian and Mary-Ann Friberg, of Trumbull, Sylvia Culetsu, of Bridgeport, John Culetsu, of Las Vegas, NV, Voni Fatse and her husband, George, of Easton, Christine Fatsy, of Fairfield, Debra Sylvia, of Fairfield, and Nora Hoag, of Huntington. In addition to his parents, David is predeceased by a brother, Andrew Shaw; maternal grandparents, Dimitrie James Culetsu and Mary Moran Culetsu; Elizabeth Culetsu, his young cousin, Jason J. Kalakay and paternal grandparents, William and Rita Shaw. David's family would like to thank so very much the amazing and attentive staff at Bridgeport Hospital for their gracious care.
