Richard A. Gramse, age 71, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Diane Harmon Gramse, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 5, 2019. Born in Bridgeport on October 4, 1948, son of the late Arthur and Carrie Nalewajk Gramse, Richard was a lifelong city resident. Mr. Gramse was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Army. He had most recently worked as an assisted living coach for the Kennedy Center for several years until his retirement. Music was his life, he was the Bass guitar player and vocalist for the " New Geezers Band " a group that enjoyed playing for various Veterans organizations for over 20 years. He also spent time in Italy doing a USO tour with his cousin. In addition to Diane, his loving wife of, survivors include his son, Eric Gramse and his partner Claudia Sanchez of Bridgeport, daughters Riki Pinho and her husband Peter of West Haven, Laci Mintz and her husband Adam and Keli Brown and her husband Greg, all of Bridgeport, grandchildren Michael and Isaac Gramse, Justin and Kayla Sanchez, Nazaria and Seraiah Mintz and Evan Brown. Richard leaves his precious great-granddaughter Scarlett Diaz as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at 12 noon in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield Center with burial to follow in Park Cemetery, Bridgeport with full Military Honors. Family and friends may call on Wednesday morning from 10 am until the time of services. Memorial Donations may be directed to DAV P.O.
