Born in Desire, PA on December 21, 1917, he was the son of the late John and Anna (Kopcso) Rescsanski. He graduated from high school in New York City while living with his family in the Bronx prior to moving back to Bridgeport.

Joe started working at Dictaphone Corporation where his technical skills and abilities were recognized. He then joined the US Army in 1944 during WW II and served in the U.S. Army Air Corp supervising the installation of airfield communications systems for the Bermuda and Iceland Base Commands. After his service to the country, Joe attended the University of Bridgeport where he acquired an Engineering degree while working at Dictaphone. From there Joe advanced to Chief Mechanical Engineer, where he was proud of the many patents credited to him.  He also later worked for CBS Records contributing his expertise with audio recording and production.

He met his wife and one true love, Irene Elizabeth Nagy, at a wedding in 1948 and danced with her the whole night.  They married in 1951, and built their forever home in Trumbull, CT., where they raised 6 children. Joseph was the proud grandfather of 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons.

In the 1970’s, Joe started a second career in commercial real estate for The Investor’s Mortgage Company in Bridgeport, CT. as their Certified Property Manager and Assistant Vice President. He also served in various capacities on the Bridgeport Board of Realtors including a term as President.  He was active member of St Theresa church in Trumbull, CT. and was a tenor in the church choir, which he loved, until he was 96 years old. He served many years as an Assistant Scout Master for St Theresa’s Troop 68 in Trumbull and later was Scout Master for Troop 68 from 1977 – 1984, where he enjoyed teaching the boys about camping, fishing and life skills.  He was the recipient of the Silver Beaver Award; a council-level distinguished service award of the Boy Scouts of America given to adult leaders who have made an impact on the lives of youth through many years of service given to the council.
