Obituary of Gus Verras
Gus Verras passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 7, 2024.
A devoted family man, Gus is survived by his beloved wife, Debi, and his three children, Christopher, Cara, and Brandon. He also leaves behind two cherished grandsons, Mason and Jordan, as well as three dear siblings, George, Maria, Andy, and their children all his nieces and nephews.
Known fondly as "Papa Gus" in the Grasmere neighborhood, Gus was a man of boundless energy, a generous heart, and an unyielding work ethic. He was deeply committed to his community, volunteering his time with youth football and always lending a hand wherever he could. To many, Gus was a modern-day Robin Hood, bringing kindness and support to all who needed it.
A hardworking man, Gus spent years at Fairprene and later as a custodian at the Fairfield Schools, where he was admired for his hustle and dedication. Gus's unwavering determination and love for his family and community will forever be remembered.
