Gertrude Turk of Fairfield, wife of the late John V. Turk, Passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Friday, August 9, 2024.
Trudy was born in Carbondale, PA, to the late Frank and Mary Molinaro. She was the 7th daughter of 8 sisters and one brother. She was a coal minor’s daughter who had an incredibly beautiful, operatic voice. She enjoyed singing in the St. Pius X choir and loved to sing and act in the Mill River Country Club talent shows in Stratford, CT. She also played in the 9-hole women’s golf league. Trudy loved to work in her yard and entertain her family and friends. She was an amazing cook. She dedicated her life to her family and her husband’s business as the bookkeeper for the Turk Insurance Agency, Inc. in Fairfield, CT.
With a kind heart and magnetic personality, she was loved by all who knew her. She is survived by her three children, Sharon Ann Ferrante and husband Vincent of Easton, CT, Jonathan Turk and his wife Kathleen of Trumbull, CT, and Victoria Garfield of Fairfield, CT. Her youngest sister Dolores Kuttrubis and her husband Nicholas of Carbondale, PA. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren, Corinne Turk, Ryan Turk, John F. Garfield III, Alexander Ferrante, Elizabeth Garfield and many Nieces and Nephews.

Calling hours are on Friday, August 23rd, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Church in Fairfield, with a mass to follow.
Gertrude's Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, August 23rd, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Church in Fairfield. Friends may greet the family one hour before the mass at 10:00 a.m. Services will continue to Lawncroft Cemetery, where she will be interred.
