Obituary of Elizabeth "Diane" DelMedico

Please share a memory of Elizabeth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Elizabeth Diane Roemer DelMedico, beloved wife, aunt, and cherished friend, passed away on August 7, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion. Born on February 26, 1942, in Massachusetts, Diane was a lifelong resident of Fairfield, where she made lasting contributions to her community and family. Diane is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Raymond DelMedico, of Fairfield. She is also mourned by her brother, Carl Roemer, of Utah; and her cousin, Donna Berry, of New Hampshire. She leaves behind a sister-in-law, Marie Woznick, and her husband, Roger, of Black Rock. Diane had a special relationship with her nieces, Tina Rembish (Mike), of Black Rock and Jill Cutter (Chris), of Trumbull. She is loved immensely by her grandchildren, Michael (Anna), Carly, and Mia Rembish, all of Black Rock, and Andrew and Brennan Cutter, of Trumbull. She was predeceased by her mother, Mary Hummel; and her brother, Paul Roemer; as well as her uncle, Jack Berry and aunt, Frieda Berry; and her cousin, Walter Berry. Diane's professional life included roles at Park City Hospital in Bridgeport, where she worked as a Labor and Delivery secretary, and at Aqualawn in Fairfield. Her true passions, however, were cooking, sewing, knitting, and caring for her family. Diane's love extended to many stray cats, whom she rescued and provided with loving homes. Her shy and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Diane will be remembered for her warmth, her dedication to her family, and her generosity. Services to celebrate Diane's life and legacy will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024 starting with Calling Hours from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the Lesko Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Her Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, 834 Brookside Drive, Fairfield. All other services will be held privately. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished in the hearts of those who loved her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Connecticut Hospice in Branford, CT (www.hospice.com), to honor her memory and her compassionate spirit.
