Nicholina GG Lauria, 96, of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Samuel Lauria, entered into eternal life on Saturday, August 3, 2024.
Nicki's memory will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Geraldine Kerstetter, of Fairfield; grandson, Richard Kerstetter, and wife, Kim Kerstetter, of Fairfield; great granddaughter, Nicole Kerstetter; and great grandson Richard Kerstetter; her son, Samuel John Lauria, Jr., and his wife, Debra, of Conway, SC; grandson, Samuel John Lauria, III, and his wife, Ashleigh, of Wilton; granddaughter, Jennifer E. Lauria Sousa, and her husband, Joseph Sousa, Jr., of East Providence, RI; and great grandchildren, Max Lauria, of Wilton, Kendall Lauria, of Wilton, and Joseph Sousa, III, of East Providence, RI. In addition to her loving husband, Sam, Nicholina was predeceased by her parents; her brothers, Mike and Danato Iodice; her sister, Louise Nicolett; and her son-in-law, Richard Kerstetter.
Nicki was like a mother to everyone. She loved having people over to cook for and she loved watching the New York Mets, especially Gary Carter, and enjoyed her trips to the casino. You could always find her at Nicole's softball games or Richard's basketball and baseball games. She taught both Nicole and Richard how to drive and loved coming to Mickey's, where she would clean up, run to the bank for us, and go fetch lunch. She would drive our customers home if they had to leave their car. Nicholina always dressed up with her jewelry and lipstick. Everyone knew if we were out and they needed something, her pocketbook was like a survivor kit. Now her great granddaughter, Nicole, has taken that task over. She was an Uber driver for Richard and Nicole before Uber was ever invented. She loved to play her daily numbers and scratch offs, we called her the Energizer Bunny because she was always doing something.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. directly at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 149 South Pine Creek Road, Fairfield, CT 06824. All other services will be held privately.
