Obituary of George Galich, Jr.
George D. Galich Jr., 71, beloved husband, father, and Grandpa, was called to God on February 28, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Casey) Galich for 44 years.
Born in Bridgeport on July 30, 1952, son of the late George Sr. & Mary (Duh) Galich. A graduate of Bassik High School class of 1972, George was a proud member of Local 191 Teamsters Union, driving for Roadway Express for over 30 years and a member of The Troubadours, Shoreliners, & Park City Pride Drum and Bugle Corps.
George was a great influence as a Father & Grandfather, although he was only able to influence two of four kids to be Giants fans. He was always there when it mattered and was the jack of all trades. George was a truck driver by trade but those that knew him and loved him would have different titles including Friday night pizza maker, avid stuffed animal surgeon, puzzle connoisseur, and backyard & gardening enthusiast. He enjoyed crocheting many afghans for family and friends. He was a man of habits, including Saturday night bargain grocery shopping and spending Sundays with his siblings.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Danielle (Ashleigh), George III (Jessica), Michael (Elizabeth), Alyssa, grandchildren Logan, Adeline, Jack & Lionel Galich, sisters Helen Baldelli (Al), Maryanne Galich, brother Joseph (Susan) Galich, sister Cecelia Galich, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, and will be dearly missed by all.
Friends may visit George's family on Sunday, March 3rd, from 3-7 P.M. at the Lesko Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 4th, at 10 A.M., meeting directly at St. Theresa's Church, 5301 Main Street, Trumbull.
