Sunrise Sunset
August 18, 1967 August 22, 2023
Somewhere beyond the sunset, a perfect realm is found, where all earth's longings are fulfilled and endless joys abound. Somewhere the sun is shining through mists of hazy blue. Somewhere there is no sorrow and hearts are happy and true.
Terrence William Smith, age 56 of Fairfield, beloved son of the late Edna Louise (Brown) Smith and Elroy George Smith departed this life on August 22, 2023. Born August 18, 1967 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Terry was a resident of Stratford, Conn. for more than 50 years before moving to Fairfield.
In addition to his parents, Terry was predeceased by his brother, Ralph Brown, of Seneca, SC. He is survived by Ralph's children of Seneca, SC; as well as his cousins, Mary Delores Knox Burns (Houston, TX), Kimberly Marie Knox Gleaton (Seneca, SC), Linda Knox (Liberty, SC), and Sharon Louise Knox Simmons (Atlanta).
Terry was a kind and gentle soul, and a cherished friend of the Bebon family. He and his mother were devoted to each other, and he cared for her in the last years of her life. Terry was a firm believer in God and lived a life embracing good Christian values. Above all, he believed in the healing power of prayer. He was much loved and will be missed. Although Terry left us too soon, we take solace in knowing that he is reunited with his mother in eternal life. May they rest in peace.
A Homegoing Celebration for Terry will be held Friday, September 8, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., with visiting hours beginning at 10:15 a.m., in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield, Conn. Terry will be laid to rest with his mother at Mountain Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport, Conn.
