Obituary of Loretta Jane Bohnsack
Jane Adams Bohnsack, age 90 of Fairfield, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2018. She was the beloved wife of the late John Francis Bohnsack (former manager of GE distribution). In addition to being a wife, Jane was also a mother to six, grandmother to twelve, and great grandmother to five. She was born in Egypt Mills, Missouri on November 22, 1928, the daughter of the late Walter Quincy Adams and Aida Agnes Hanebrink.
Jane put her career ambitions aside and began to raise her family. However, when the children were growing up Jane returned to school. She received her nursing degree from the University of Bridgeport. She worked for many years at the VA Hospital in West Haven, CT as well as doing volunteer nursing throughout the remainder of her career and in her retirement.
Jane leaves behind five children: Pamela Bohnsack and her husband, Normand Benjamin of Connecticut, M. Gregory Bohnsack and his wife, Patricia (Welch) of Florida, Dr. John Bohnsack and his wife, Dr. Rebecca Day of Utah, Mark Bohnsack and his wife Judy, Katrina (Bohnsack) Nelson and her husband, Michael Nelson of Connecticut. She leaves behind her grandchildren: Noah Benjamin, Seton Benjamin, Gabriel Benjamin, Nicholas and his wife Brooke Bohnsack, Kyle Bohnsack, Lindsay Bohnsack, Dr. Peyton Bohnsack, Timothy Bohnsack, Michael Nelson, Christopher Nelson, Sarah (Nelson) Neubauer and her husband Ryan, John Nelson and his wife Vicky. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Chase, Walker, Hudson, Owen and Eli. In addition to her parents and her husband Jane is predeceased by her daughter Mary L. Bohnsack.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 16, 2018 from 2-6 p.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Her Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. directly at St. Pius X Church, 834 Brookside Dr. Fairfield, CT. Interment will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery.
