Obituary of Joseph David Lafontaine

Joseph David Lafontaine, age 74 of the Black Rock section of Bridgeport, passed away on Saturday, December first, 2018. Born in Bridgeport, June 9, 1944, son of the late Damase and Alberta Fortier Lafontaine, Mr. Lafontaine was a lifelong Bridgeport resident. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam War and retired after twenty years of service to his country. He was a longtime member of the Catholic War Vets, post 1466 of Bridgeport. Survivors include his sisters, Laura, Rita, Bernadette and Cecile. Uncle Dave also leaves behind his Godson James, Goddaughter Cheryl as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Julian, Albert and Emile and a sister Beatrice. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-7 pm in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield Center with a prayer service at 6:30 pm. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Catholic War Vets, post 1466. The Lafontaine family would like to express their thanks to to the nurses and staff of the Carolton Convalescent Hospital and Bridgeport Hospital for the care that he received during his illness.
