Patricia Marie DeVeaux of Monroe, CT, peacefully passed away on April 21st, 2023 at the age of 97, having spent her final days surrounded by loved ones in her home.
She is survived by her loyal son James DeVeaux (Sherwin Stolper) of Beacon Falls, CT, her loving daughter Diane Garwacki (Michael) of Monroe, CT, her devoted daughter-in-law, Ann DeVeaux of Cheshire, CT, her three grandchildren David Garwacki (Marisa) of Derby, CT, Laura D'Ostilio (Anthony) of Monroe, CT, and Michelle DeVeaux (Amar Dharamsey) of Briarcliff Manor, NY, three great grandsons Blake, Jacob, and Ryder, and many nieces, nephews and long time devoted friends who became family.
She is predeceased by her caring husband John DeVeaux, her parents Madeline LeMay Carrano and Ralph Carrano, and her brother Ralph Carrano Jr.
Pat was a longtime resident of Bridgeport and then Monroe. She was an avid reader and music lover for her entire life. Her love of music began when she was young, leading her to become a ballroom singer, writing and recording an original song. Pat had a wonderful sense of humor and always had a positive word to say. She extended her interpersonal skills and love of children into her work life, and held various jobs such as a school crossing guard and working in the retail industry.
Affectionately known as Bubby, Pat lived her life to the fullest and was happiest when she was with her beloved family and friends, especially her great grandsons. She would often be found cooking for her family and was known for her Sunday sauce to be savored by all. She also enjoyed TV game shows with her favorites being Jeopardy and The Chase, or watching sports, particularly tennis. Pat loved fun evenings full of various card games and rousing rounds of Trivial Pursuit. Other remembrances include vacationing with family, afternoon tea parties or luncheons with her grandchildren.
It is without question that Bubby's relationships were of most importance to her. Bubby's support and presence will be greatly missed by all who dearly love her.
