Obituary of Nancy Nouss-Brown

Please share a memory of Nancy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the sudden passing of Nancy Nouss-Brown. She passed away peacefully of natural causes on March 30, 2023. Nancy was 75yrs young! She was a beloved mother, grandmother (aka Nani), mother-in-law, sister, aunt, and friend.

Nancy was a fan of the water, especially the beach. She loved: sailing with her sisters on Martha's Vineyard, sitting at Jennings Beach reading a book, or chatting and laughing with friends and her daughter, and playing with her granddaughter in the pool. Nancy was a foodie! She loved to try a new restaurant or special at one of her favorite restaurants. We'll also miss her cooking skills with her signature dishes of: Chicken Florentine, deviled eggs, or lemon/garlic chicken. Nancy was a social butterfly and was happiest getting together with family and friends. However, she could easily talk with perfect strangers, especially if someone had a dog, and if that dog was a golden retriever, then that person was an instant friend!

Nancy felt proudest about being a mother and extremely proud of her daughter and granddaughter. Nancy will be remembered for her generous and fun-loving spirit. She was always happiest giving instead of receiving, especially at Christmas, for someone's birthday, or if she just saw something special on QVC. We'll miss her signature "Hi Hi", the dozens of gifs sent via text to celebrate someone's birthday, and her loud "OOOO HOOOO" because she couldn't whistle.

Nancy was born in St Louis, MO on August 24th 1947. She grew up in Pelham Manor, NY. She graduated high school from the Ursuline School and graduated college from The College of New Rochelle. She married Carter Brown in August of 1972, but divorced in 1984. She was a long-time resident of Seymour, CT, where as a single working mother, she raised her only daughter, Courtney Brown.

Nancy worked as a Real Estate paralegal and paralegal/conflicts coordinator for Pullman & Comley, LLC for 29 years. She was also a devoted member of the Connecticut Association of Paralegals, Inc of Fairfield County, CT for 26 years. Nancy served as President, Vice-President, Primary Representative National Federation of Paralegals, and Treasurer.

Nancy was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Susan Nouss. She is survived by her daughter, Courtney Brown (Andrew Tomlin); her granddaughter, Audrey Tomlin; sisters, Suzanne (Don Bayley) and Betsy Nouss (Tom Guinan); nephews, David and Matthew Bayley, and Brodie and Aidan Guinan; and a niece, Amanda Bayley.

A Memorial Service will be held on May 12, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St Thomas Aquinas Church, with a private interment service to follow. Nancy loved color and turquoise was her favorite. In honor of Nancy's memory, we ask that anyone who attends her memorial service please wear your favorite color. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Bridgeport Rescue Mission (www.bridgeportrescuemission.org)
