Despite rarely getting to building 5 from my upper 9 office, I enjoyed working along with my fellow teaching administrator. He got to building nine, working with Nick Georgis to get his amateur radio license. Many were the hours Caron practiced Morse code in the K1UAT space among stored physics equipment room off the 955 lab. For relief an occasional talk with someone in a foreign country got him to my world. Always upbeat, optimistic, he enjoyed his professional work. He taught me a valuable lesson. While away in a foreign country his budget was diminished since there was no one to defend requests. I made sure I was never absent at that time of year! I also enjoyed his sample French lesson while taking the same class at Fairfield University, as we furthered our educational credits. It was so different from the foreign language instruction I got in Spanish that I was the slowest learner in the class! But the strongest memory is from recent ROMEO gatherings where the pride, love and appreciation of all his family poured forth as he fought back from a series of health challenges in his later years. His expression of the strength he got from family was always there, bringing a smile of satisfaction to his face as he shared all you have meant to him. Stan Rhodes

My dear friend since 1955, I shall miss your sparkling intelligence, acerbic sense of humor and unfailing insights into the human condition. You enhanced the lives of those you encountered.
