Obituary of Henrietta Ann Rubano

Please share a memory of Henrietta to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Henrietta Ann (Etta) Rubano, age 85, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of Mario Rubano, passed away with her daughter by her side on Sunday, January 1, 2023. Born in Bridgeport on July 26, 1937, daughter of the late James and Mary Nuttall, Etta had lived in Bridgeport before moving to Colorado for 17 years and then returned home to Bridgeport to be with her family. Etta was a graduate of the University of Bridgeport and went on to an administration career in education in both Connecticut and Colorado. Mrs. Rubano was a member of the Wives Club of the Barber Shop Quartet in Denver, Colorado, where she attended many competitions with her husband. She loved painting, cooking and knitting. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Even though "Mimi" was a title given to her by her grandchildren, it became synonymous with who she was to their extended family and friends. In addition to Mario, her loving husband of over 40 years, Etta is survived by her daughter, Therese Palmieri and her husband, Mario, of Bridgeport. Mimi leaves behind her grandchildren, Julianne Hill and her husband, Steven, and Dante James Palmieri; as well as her great-granddaughter, Amelia Hill. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 7 at 9:15 a.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center and at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrew Church, 395 Anton Street, Bridgeport. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bishope Wicke Health Center, 584 Long Hill Avenue, Shelton, CT 06484.
