Obituary of Mary P. Meehan

Mary P. Meehan, age 91, devoted wife to the late Albert Meehan (BPTFD Assistant Chief, Ret.), of the Black Rock section of Bridgeport, passed away on December 6, 2022.

She will be lovingly remembered by her family including two sons, Daniel Meehan (PD Lieutenant, Ret.) and his wife Joan, of Wethersfield, Michael Meehan and his wife Allyson, of Black Rock; two grandsons, John Meehan (US Navy) and his wife Jennifer, Patrick Meehan; her brother in law, Larry Meehan and sister in law, Patricia Washburn; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband Albert, Mary was predeceased by her parents, Cornelius and Josephine O'Connell Murphy, her brother, Neil Murphy, her brothers in law, Frank Meehan and Donald Washburn, her sisters in law, Anna Meehan Eselnick and Elizabeth (Betty) Meehan, Marion Meehan.

Born and raised in Bridgeport, Mary graduated from Harding High School in 1949. She was a retired accounting clerk for Fairfield University. A devout Catholic, Mary was a longtime member of Saint Ann Church, as well as, the Gaelic American Club, Catholic War Veterans Ladies Auxiliary, and the Fairfield Seniors. She was a dedicated fan of the UCONN Women's Basketball and Notre Dame Football. Memories of Mary's loving and caring ways will be cherished by her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday 10 AM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home 1209 Post Road in Fairfield Center, and 11 AM in Saint Ann Church, Black Rock, with her interment to follow in St. Michael's Cemetery.
