Obituary of Anita A Burger-Kolonjari
Please share a memory of Anita to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Anita “Cookie” Burger-Kolonjari was a caring and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children, at Jewish Senior Services in Bridgeport on October 26, 2022 at the age of 66 after a year long courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Anita was born August 10, 1956 to the late Arnold and Gisele (Paris) Wolf. She worked hard as an executive secretary for General Electric and then took time off to raise her children, Allie and Daniel in Monroe, CT. She later returned to work at Madison Jewelers in Fairfield, CT (a business started by her father and family) where she remained until they closed. Customers loved going to Anita, because she was always so warm, cheerful, and knowledgeable. She always had a smile on her face and worked hard to connect with everyone.
Anita loved spending time in the kitchen, using her natural ability to throw things together, like her mother, to create the most delicious dishes full of flavor and love. She was passionate about music, nature, and the arts. Anita didn’t have a mean bone in her body and was loved by all. Her biggest joys in life were being a mother and grandmother.
Anita is predeceased by her father, Arnold Wolf and her mother, Gisele Paris Wolf. She is survived by her two children, Allison Burger of Bridgeport, CT and Daniel (Randi) Burger and two beautiful grandchildren Charlie Bea and Samuel of Peabody, MA. She is also survived by her sister Fran (Paul) Bagoon of Jupiter, FL, her sister Corrine Wolf of Stratford, CT, and her brother Kenny (Yehudit) Wolf.
A memorial service is scheduled for 4:00pm, Sunday, October 30, 2022 at Congregation B’nai Israel in Bridgeport, CT. A gathering and shiva will follow there. Shiva will continue on Monday, October 31 and Tuesday, November 1 at 67 Harborview Place, Stratford, CT.
