Adele Roslyn Somogie Powe Dion passed away on Monday September 12, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving children.
Born and raised in Black Rock. She was predeceased by her parents: Irma and Otto Somogie; her brothers: Edward, Albert, and Otto; sisters: Trudy, Olga, and Irene; her children: Dale Frederick and Monique Anne Dion-Secula; and her husbands: James Dion and Leonard Powe. Adele is survived by her children: Audrey Quackenbush, Gregory Dion, Adele McDonough, Laura Faith Dion and Frederick Dion; her grandchildren: Michele, Gregory, Kristin, Emily Kate, Hannah, Alicia, David, Diana, Jason, and Gabriel; as well as many nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren; and her dear friends: PJ and Beatrice.
Adele was a graduate of Roger Ludlowe High School and attended Sacred Heart University. She had been a manager of Zwirlings Bakery and later a secretary for Columbia Records. Adele was the life of the party. As a young woman she enjoyed dancing at the Ritz Ballroom in Bridgeport and Pinewood Lake Country Club. Later on in life: trips to the Cape; Saratoga races; Captains Cove; Lourdes Shrine; and getting her hair done at Beautyland. She adored praying the rosary and designing perennial gardens. God bless Adele. We love you and we will miss you. You’re forever in our hearts.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 19 at 11 am directly at Holy Rosary Church, 10 Father Salemi Drive, Ansonia, Ct 06401. Burial to follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4-7 pm in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield Center.
