Coach, You always spoke about how you loved to swim in Simpson Bay or your beloved Litte Bay every day. As you got older, this and other daily tasks became more difficult. You were stubborn and refused to ask for help, even with the simplest tasks. As much as you fort Jeffrey, Chuck, and me, you allowed us to take you for what would be your last swim in the sea you loved. As you tried to dunk and spray us with water from your mouth, I could see the joy in your eyes even though you would not admit it. Rest In Peace Coach

So very sorry for your loss. I coached against Sumner for many great years in the MBIAC. He was a terrific coach, a dedicated teacher, and a good man. It was obvious to anyone who had the privilege of playing for him that he had a sincere passion for the game .
He will be missed. I pray for the repose of his soul and I ask the Good Lord to give you comfort and strength in your grief. May he rest in peace.

I never played for Coach but he was the baseball coach at Law when I was in HS plying Football and Wrestling. Knew him through that contact and whenever we’d run into each other it was like I’d played baseball for him. Tough but fair Coach and man who told you the truth. RIP Coach, love you.

The Sochrins were such an admirable couple - funny, fun, and enjoying life and travel as much as possible. We should all be so lucky. The Baummers all send love to Jeff and the entire Sochrin family. XOXO
