Obituary of Dorothy Ann Nemeth
Dorothy Ann McGann Nemeth, age 88, of Stratford, beloved wife of James Nemeth, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022.
Born in Fairfield and raised in Bridgeport, daughter of the late George and Julia Nagy McGann, Dorothy had lived in Stratford for over 42 years. She had worked for the Lacy Manufacturing Co. and later for the Ohio Rubber Co. until her retirement.
A Cancer survivor with a giving heart, she enjoyed travel, especially to Europe. She was an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan. She liked playing bingo, crocheting, shopping, going to carnivals and festivals amongst other events.
Known for many things, one of which was her home cooking and renowned chicken soup. Dorothy enjoyed Holidays with family, hosting, watching sports, game shows and soap operas, listening and dancing to her favorite Christmas, Country, and Elvis music and the occasional trips to the casino.
More than anything, Dorothy loved the times that she spent with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband James, she leaves her sons, Richard L. Gray and Samuel L. Gray, and his wife, Alzira, of Bridgeport; a sister, Julia Gonzalez, of Glendale, Arizona; nephews, the late Ruben Gonzalez Jr., George Gonzalez; nieces, Julie, Arlene, and goddaughter, Donna Gonzalez; grandchildren, Theodore Jr., Jessica, Ricky, Joshua, Carmen, Kimberly; and a great-grandson, Isaiah Gray. She was predeceased by her brothers, Francis, George, and William McGann; a sister, Rosemarie Ripoll; and son, Theodore McGann.
