Siobhan Bridget O'Connell Foley, aged 53, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 28th, 2022, at her home in Bridgeport with her husband, Russ, by her side.
Siobhan was born on May 31st, 1968, to the late James "Balbo" and Catherine O'Connell. Her father was from Lixnaw, County Kerry, Ireland and her mother was born and raised in Bridgeport. She attended Holy Family Catholic Grammar School and then Fairfield Warde High School. After high school, she studied at J. M. Wright Technical School in Stamford and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked at St. Vincent's Hospital for five years and later at St. Joseph's Manor and Lord Chamberlain nursing homes.
Siobhan was extremely proud of her Irish Heritage and loved Irish music and treasured listening to her father sing at many dances and social events. She enjoyed Irish festivals and feis' with her family, her cousins Kathleen Flannery Callahan, David Moran, Carlene Moran Stillson, Brendan O'Connell, and close friend, Jennifer Moran, as well as the gang from the club. No matter wherever Siobhan went, a fun time was had by all. Most of all, she especially loved walking with her father at St Mary's by the Sea in Black Rock.
She met her future husband, Timothy Foley at the Gaelic club on the Post Road in Fairfield and they married in May 1991. The family moved to Rutland, Vermont and resided there for five years before moving back to Bridgeport where they lived with her maternal grandmother, Margaret Keating. After Timothy's passing, Siobhan married Russell Daniels.
She was predeceased by her husband, Timothy after a lengthy illness; her daughter, Sara Anne; her parents, James Balbo and Catherine O'Connell; her grandparents, Michael Joseph and Margaret Moran Keating (both from Ireland); and her Uncle John Keating. In addition to her husband Russ, Siobhan is survived by her son, Aidan Patrick Foley; her brother, Daniel O’Connell, and his wife, Rebecca; two sisters, Maura O'Connell and Christine McDade, and her husband, Gerald; nephews, Gearalt McDade, Deaghlan McDade, and Ryan O'Connell; a niece, Aislinn McDade-Seferi; great- nephew, Jax Seferi; and a great-niece, Aubrey O'Connell; and her aunt, Hannah McInerney, from Navan, County Meath, Ireland; as well as many cousins.
A memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 8th at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 700 Old Stratfield Road in Fairfield. Arrangements are in the care of The Lesko & Polke Funeral Home.
