Obituary of Giovanni Caruso

Giovanni Caruso Sr., age 96, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Giuseppina (Josephine) Caruso, passed away in his home on January 20, 2022.

Born in Newark NJ on November 12, 1925, he was the son of the late Giovanni and Anunziata Insulla Caruso. He married the Love of his Life Josephine in 1951 in Sicily, Italy and settled in Fairfield County with his seven children in 1965. Giovanni was a man of many talents and interests but loved Gardening and spending time with his adored family and friends. He was an inspiration to all of us.

In Addition to his devoted wife of 70+ years, he will be lovingly remembered by his 7 children Nancy Cavalli, Emanuele Caruso, Margherita Caruso-Forrester, Enrico Caruso, Candida Caruso, Giovanni Caruso Jr., and Marilena Caruso-D’Angelico; son-in-law(s), Gavin B. Forrester and Gianni D’Angelico; daughter-in-law, Lisa Caruso, and 10 grandchildren, Michela Cavalli, Frances Forrester, Caitlin Natalia Caruso, Dante John-William Caruso, Jonathan Manzoori, Andrew Manzoori, Matthew Manzoori, Carisa Caruso, Nicholas Chacho and Anthony Chacho; granddaughter in law, Clara Cavalli; and cherished great grandchildren, Gianluca, Mia, and Max Cavalli. Giovanni was preceded in death by his four brothers, son in law, Giannino Cavalli, and grandson, Paolo Cavalli.

A private funeral service and interment in Nichols Burial Ground have been arranged.
