When I was the principal of Bassick High School and Alice was on the Board of Education, she was my strongest supporter. I enjoyed sitting with her and Joan Nobriga at Bassick home basketball games while Alice rooted for her team. I began my teaching career at Bassick almost 50 years ago and know much of Bassick's history. While there have been many distinguished Bassick graduates (including two who became Assistant Superintendents of School in Bridgeport), no graduate has ever done more for Bassick High School than Alice. I will always cherish my memories of Alice whose personality was a delightful mixture of sweet and feisty. She was one of a kind. Ron Remy
