Obituary of Kathryn Louloudis

Please share a memory of Kathryn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Kathryn Zannakis Louloudis, age 63, beloved wife of George Louloudis, of Fairfield, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2018.

In addition to George, her devoted husband of 42 years, her memory will be cherished by her son, Yanni Louloudis, of New Haven; her father, George Zannakis, of Fairfield; one sister, Mary Patestas and her husband Theo, of Albertson, NY; one brother in law, Bill Louloudis and his wife Vivian, of Fairfield; four nieces, Maria Patestas, Katie Rock and her husband Danny, Mariana Bellenot and her husband Kevin, Joanna Jones and her husband Spencer; one grandniece, Olivia Rock. She was predeceased by her mother, Maria Zannakis; parents in law, John and Maria Louloudis.

Born in Andros, Greece, Kathryn immigrated to New York City in 1970, and along with her husband, son, and father, moved to Fairfield in 1995. Kathryn was the Chief Operating Officer and President of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation New York Office. She joined Stavros Niarchos Group in 1985 after seven years of prior shipping experience at Polaris Marine Agency. In 2004, when the shipping operations were dissolved, she joined the Stavros Niarchos Foundation where she held various administrative positions in operations and upper-level management. Collectively, she had been with the company for over 30 years, and built remarkable relationships with her work colleagues, which she considered to be family.

An incredible host and entertainer, Kathryn had a tremendous passion for cooking and feeding those she loved. She enjoyed traveling to beautiful places and sunbathing on white sand beaches. Most notable for Kathryn was her dedication to and love for her family and dear friends. Anyone who knew Kathryn immediately fell in love with her infectious personality, smile, and joy filled spirit. Her impact on others was significant. She truly embodied the word "selflessness" as she always put others first. Her philanthropic work at the Foundation spoke volumes of the kind of person that she was and of her commitment to "filotimo", a Greek term meaning "Love of Honor". Her unfaltering strength, passion for people, and commitment to her family and friends are aspects of her character that will never be forgotten. She truly was one of a kind, and will be missed by so many people.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church 4070 Park Avenue, in Bridgeport. Her family will receive people in the church from 10 AM until the time of service. The interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
