Helen Elizabeth Borona, daughter of the late Stephen and Elizabeth Bogdanyi, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2018 at the Jewish Home for the Elderly. Raised in Bridgeport, Helen spent most of her life in Fairfield. She was predeceased by her husband, James in 1984, after being married for 45 years. From 1957-1958, Helen worked at the International Institute in interest of Hungarian Freedom Fighters who came to the United States. She retired after 23 years from the University of Bridgeport as an executive secretary and at the of 62, graduated from UB with an Associate's Degree in 1978 and was initiated into Who's Who in American Junior Colleges. Helen was a lifelong parishioner of St. Emery Roman Catholic Church and an active member of Young at Heart and also volunteered with the Fairfield Historical Society. Helen is survived by her four children, James, John, Elaine, and Rosemary; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. directly at St. Emery's Church, 838 Kings Highway East, Fairfield.
