Obituary of Eileen E Stuhlman
Eileen Elizabeth Stuhlman, age 93, of Fairfield, beloved wife of James C. Stuhlman (predeceased), passed with family at her bedside on Tuesday, June 5, 2018.
Eileen was born in Manhattan, New York the daughter of Patrick and Mary Carney. She was a caring sister to Veronica and Al Carney and his wife Mary. A loving mother to Paul Stuhlman, Marianne Enslein, Gerry Stuhlman, Beth Stuhlman and Patrick Stuhlman and their spouses Linda, Mark, Maureen, and Ingrid. Known in later years as Grandma Eileen - Momma - Grand Marnier or Grandmere, she was graced by God with her 9 grandchildren Matthew, Kristin, Adam, Bryan, Meredith, Briana, Jae, Wilhelmina, Aubrey, and spouses Courtney, Dennis, and Virginia. She was also blessed with 8 great grandchildren; Graham, James, Olivia, Callen, Emily, Caroline, Rory, and Abigail. She was also very proud of her Godchildren, nieces and nephews. She is the sun filled tree that has branched out with 29 blossoming limbs and many more will likely bloom in the decades ahead with Eileen and Jim among their roots and in their hearts.
Eileen graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Hunter College and a Masters in Education from Fairfield University. She served as a favored elementary school teacher in the Glenville School and as a much respected Guidance Counselor and advocate for the students of the Western Middle School in Greenwich, Connecticut.
She dedicated countless hours to multiple charities throughout her life in Greenwich and to others far from home.
Her greatest joy was hearing the laughter of her extended family. Her absolute comfort was her faith in her God and the ways that God’s presence could be shared with others. Eileen’s smile was broad whenever she spent time with her friends. And her heart was full of strength when helping those in need of another’s kindness.
Her family is most grateful for the unbounded love shown to her by the staff and fellow residents of the Brightview Memory Care Residence in Norwalk these past seven months.
Calling hours will be held on June 9th, Saturday from 9 to 11 AM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center, with her Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 12 PM in Saint Anthony Church 147 South Pine Creek Road, Fairfield. The interment will follow in Putnam Cemetery, Greenwich.
