To the Bilotta family
Your dad will forever be in my heart.
He was a friend but more like family.
I could talk to him about anything and he would listen but still would have the last word to guide me in the right direction, I will miss our talks alot.
I just lost a piece of my heart, but know he will be watching over all of us.
Rest in Peace Joe
Love Valerie

Sincere condolences to the Bilotta Family, from the Foresters. My Dad Ed worked for Joe and the Buckley Family for many years, and I got my first job in Broadcasting at WSEN with Joe's help. My Dad loved Joe and Rick, and that affection was returned in many ways. Joe was proof you could be a nice person and still make it big in this business. It was a pleasure of mine to see Joe at the, RAB, NJBA and Industry events after my Dad passed, he was another father figure in the radio business for me, also gone too soon.

Barbara, Greg and Nick,
My heart is breaking for all of you right now. I am so sorry for your loss. I am so glad I was able to spend time with Joe last month in Vegas. I am so glad you brought him. I know how difficult it was for Joe to attend but how wonderful for him to get to receive the leadership award from the Broadcasters Foundation. It meant the world to him. Joe and I spent over 30 years working together at Buckley and I have many wonderful memories. He was always very supportive and we became good friends over the years. It is still hard to believe I can’t just pick up the phone and call him. I know that he is with Rick Buckley at the radio station in the sky and they are having a ball catching up. Rest In Peace Joe.

Our family is deeply saddened by the passing of our cousin Joe. Throughout his illness Joe fought with such courage and determination and lived every day of his life. Growing up together Joe was like a brother to me and as a result I have so many happy memories and stories of him. Reading his tributes I found that he touched many people in his life. I hope his family will find comfort in the outpouring of love being shown to Joe. With our deepest sympathy to his family, Barb, Greg and Nick and their families and to my cousins Anthony and Marianne and their families we will always remember Joe and keep all of you in our prayers.

Joe was much more than the business people knew about him.
Yes, he was celebrated and congratulated on occasion
But he was best known to me by his giving heart. A rather unassuming
Humble man who had the interest of his family ahead of everything else’this I know to be true..
In business;
The best of years were made possible by rick and joe with their desire to keep things going against the tide. I was able to maintain my sobriety and sanity while affording to send my ‘ troubled” daughter to a great program. Joe’s business
Sense kept me and my family fed spiritually and physically for a number of years, and even now.
Sometimes in life we dont know how much we have favorably affected another with a sense of compassion and solid beliefs, i dont think joe took a bow for this one.
I am grateful to have known joe since the day Rick and i arrived in Philly with Mr Buckley (rick’s dad).
I disagreed with many plans and ideas from management in those silly philly years, but i often got the idea joe came to my defense and was on my side silently.
He was a good friend privately.
At WOR years later I was given a great chance to come back to the company by David Bernstein, Bob Bruno, and Rich who ran the syndication. This all started with Joe chiming in with David and I got the vote. Joe told me 14 years later that he was proud of me cause I never disappointed him, made me feel good.
I wrote a text on facebook mentioning that rick and joe are together in Heaven having the “I told you so” discussion.
With admiration
Joey

I has the pleasure of knowing and working for Joe, in various forms, for over 30 years. I learned a lot from him. As opposed to many in the Broadcast Industry, he was level headed, very smart, and had a very humanistic approach to everything and everyone. It was a pleasure to work for and with him. I am deeply saddened by this news and know that he and Rick Buckley are reunited. Please accept my condolences on the loss of your husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, co worker, mentor. Joe was a unique individual - the kind they just don't make any longer - and will be missed. May Joe rest in peace.

Although we have not seen or spoke for many years, it is with deep sorrow that we learned of Cousin Joe's passing. We offer our condolences. As was said at Uncle Andy's funeral, there is never a good time to die for those that are left behind. His pain and suffering has ended. His body may be gone but his spirit and the lessons he taught will live on. Cherish the memories as they can never be taken away.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Joe was, and still is, a glowing light in the very different worlds of "broadcasting" and "family." He knew the difference, and he knew the value of each. He allowed them to gently intertwine and recognized their value becomes greater when combined and shared.
I'm so lucky he played a role in my life!

As someone on the air at WIBG Philadelphia for all three owners during their rock and roll days, I had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know Joe in 1970, not long after Storer Broadcasting sold the station to Buckley Broadcasting. Back then, Joe was running the mail room at our studios in Lafayette Hill PA, just outside the Philly city limits. We knew him as the "South Philly kid" who always did his job thoroughly, and usually with a big smile. Joe would be at every WIBG event and major appearance outside the radio station.
Joe's was the personification of the American Dream, and his rise through the company to become it's top leader was a tribute to his solid work ethic and strong character . We traded emails over the last few years from time to time, and Joe's were always upbeat, bright, and professional. When Buckley Broadcasting was sold, and Joe retired, I noted to Joe that sadly, radio needed MORE people like Joe, not one less. I just looked this morning, and found his final email to me, wishing me "a Happy New Year." Great guy who will be missed.

Mr. Bilotta was my “West Point Dad” when Nick and I were in school. I remember him indoctrinatng this Texan to East coast foods. He opened his home to me and treated me like family when I was a thousand miles away from my real home. Whether it was for Thanksgiving or a weekend down the shore, he sincerely cared for me when I couldn’t be with my family. I’ll never forget that love and I’ll always remember his generosity. On behalf of the Henry family, my condolences to the Bilotta family.

Barb, Greg and Nick...
Words can and will fail us at a time of sorrow like this, but we all hope that understanding and compassion will speak volumes for us.
You know how special Joe is, far more than do we, his friends. And I hope you also know how special you are to him, as those of us who were fortunate enough to spend time with him came to understand so clearly.
Joe's work in our business, his role in our industry, were exemplary and so respected. But his actions as a fellow human being, even more so. You don't always find it that way, and the latter is the one that really counts.
Thank you for sharing him with us, as you did for so long. Know that you and your entire families are in our hearts and our prayers.

Rest in Peace Joe. Go to your parents, waiting for you. May your good works speak to God about your moral, Christian life and grant you eternal life for your efforts on earth. As a cousin (our parents were sisters) Anthony taught you Latin when you became an altar boy. We mourn today with Anthony, Maryanne and Joe's Children. We offer sympathy and support for Barbara. God's grace be with you Barb, now and always. We cannot be with you for the funeral and Mass, because we are in Florida. But we are with you in Christian spirit and family fidelity. Go with God.

Barbara & Family:
So sad to witness his passing, although only you truly know the depths of the health challenges he endured over the past few years. But, in spite of it all he persevered--never giving up and always looking for the next positive option. Now he is truly at peace!
Truly a unique and special person in all phases of his life--husband, father, friend, leader, mentor, giver and always there to help!!
So wonderful that he traveled to Las Vegas to receive his so well deserved Broadcasters Foundation Leadership Award in April...his comments there were so very moving.
RIP Joe...God Bless!
