Obituary of Claire M. Ricciotti
Claire M. Ricciotti passed away peacefully on May 5, 2018 at her home surrounded by family after a two-year battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was 82.
Claire grew up in the borough of Queens in Jamaica, NY, with her brother Donald Massaro, two children of Italian immigrants Angelo and Filomena Massaro. For the past 60 years, she lived in Fairfield, CT. She held a Bachelor's Degree from Hofstra University and a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Bridgeport, which she earned at night while working and raising her family. She loved her work as a fifth grade elementary school teacher at Sherman School of the Fairfield Public Schools.
She was the beloved wife of Joseph Anthony Ricciotti; the loving mother of Faith Ricciotti of Fairfield, CT and Hope Ricciotti and her husband Vincent Connelly of Brookline, MA. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Joseph and Leo Connelly and Chernet Sisay. She was sister to Gloria Massaro and the late Donald Massaro of Washington, DC.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. On Wednesday, services will begin in the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. and continue in Saint Pius X Church at 10:30 a.m. for her Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
