Arnold C. Stieber, age 90, beloved husband of Arline Sathmary Stieber, of Fairfield, passed away on April 17, 2018.

In addition to Arline, his devoted wife of 63 years, Arnold's memory will be embraced by his daughter, Paula Stieber Csengo, of Fairfield; his granddaughter, Jennifer Smith and her husband Brian, of Shelton; great grandson, Austin Smith; sister-in-law, Barbara Findley and her husband, Ronald, of The Villages, FL. He was predeceased by his parents, Conrad and Bertha Toth Stieber, and brother, Alfred Stieber.

Born and raised in Bridgeport, Arnold had been a resident of Fairfield for over 60 years. He graduated from Bassick High School in 1935, served proudly in the United States Navy during World War II, and worked as a pipe fitter for Southern Connecticut Gas Company for 35 years before his retirement. Arnold was recognized during his career by the Bridgeport Safety Council for saving a human life. A devout Catholic, he was a member of St. Emery's Church, as well as, the American Legion in Fairfield, Alhambra El Poder Canavan, and Knights of Columbus Father Coleman Council. Arnold enjoyed world travel with his family, including visits to 40 of the 50 United States, cruises and tours to Europe and Caribbean, as well as, trips to many regions throughout Africa and Canada. Many meaningful memories of his dedication to his family and friends will be cherished by those whom he touched throughout his life.

A private committal service with military honor will be held in Mountain Grove Cemetery.
