Obituary of Gary James Rosso, Sr.
Gary James Rosso, Sr., of Ansonia, passed away suddenly on Monday, April 2, 2018. The son of the late George Rosso and Rosalie Cascella Hargrove, he had been a lifelong area resident of Bridgeport and Ansonia. Gary was a talented and meticulous carpenter, though he admittedly was a terrible speller, he was great at math! He took great pleasure in cooking for his family, watching movies, coaching his son’s baseball team, and going to Bridgeport Sound Tigers’ games. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and New York Yankees. Gary would make any event or celebration as special as he could since he strongly believed that it was the “little things that were truly important”. He loved family gatherings generally ending each with a cigar. His memory and infectious laugh will be lovingly remembered by his cherished children, Alyssa Marie of Milford and Gary James Jr., of Oxford, beloved sisters, Deborah Antrim, of Ansonia and Colleen Hargrove, of Seymour, two adoring nieces, Lisa Semons-Fogle, of Ansonia and Ashley Coelho, of Seymour, his nephew, AJ Coelho, whom he shared a special bond with and great-nephew Deshawn Fogel. He will also be forever missed by his lifelong friend Lenny Ferraro along with several aunts, uncles, dear friends and extended family. Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 6, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. with a service to take place at 7:00 p.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. His burial will take place on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 10 AM directly at St. Michael Cemetery in Stratford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to his children's education fund, payable to: Lauren Mason, in care of the funeral home.
