Obituary of August Gus Us

August  "Gus " Us, age 80, of Easton, beloved husband of Doris Boothe Us, passed away peacefully on Monday, March, 5, 2018.

Born in Domzale, Slovenia on July 26, 1937 to the late Peregrin and Maria Pistotnik Us, Gus came to the United States in 1952 and had been an Easton Town resident for nearly forty years. He had worked for many years as a carpenter until his retirement. He was a longtime parishoner of Holy Cross Church, he was an avid singer, and was the lead singer in the family group, Zvon, he enjoyed being outdoors while skiing, camping or vacationing. Gus loved his pet dogs and liked the occasional trip to the casino. Most of all Gus liked socializing with his family and friends.

In addition to his devoted wife Dory, survivors include his brothers Maximillion Us and his wife Carmen of Dunellon, Florida, Frank Us of Fairfield, Peter Us and his wife Janice of Stratford and Walter Us of Sag Harbor, NY. He leaves behind his sisters Denise Borsuk of Ellsworth, Maine and Stephanie Us of Burlington, Vt, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Joseph, John and Richard Us and sisters Maria Mikan, Angela Dermastja, Fani Tomazic, Christine Us and Stana Kalisnik.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:15 am in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield Center and at 12 noon at Holy Cross Church, Tahmore Dr., Fairfield. Burial to follow in Lawncroft Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 am until the time of services.
