Obituary of Kelly Anne McKeon
Kelly Anne McKeon, age 26, of Trumbull, CT, passed away at Yale-New Haven Hospital on Monday, December 18, 2017, after a brief illness.
Born on August 18, 1991, Kelly was the beloved daughter of Julie Anne O'Connell McKeon and Thomas Francis McKeon. In addition to her parents, she leaves her younger brothers, Conor Thomas McKeon and John Patrick (Jack) McKeon. Kelly also leaves her aunts, Susan McKeon, Patricia McKeon (Neal Warshaw), Sarah Winn, Margaret Reddington, Dorothy McKeon, and Maria McKeon, her uncles, Tim O'Connell, Chris O'Connell, Frank McKeon (Wa Xian), Michael McKeon (Ellen), William McKeon (Polly), Richard McKeon (Kathryn), Peter McKeon (Beth), and Paul McKeon (Jill) and 32 cousins, as well as countless loving friends. Kelly was predeceased by her grandparents, Timothy A. and Patricia Brennan O'Connell, and Frank D. and Jeanne Brisse McKeon, and uncles, Joseph McKeon, Charles Winn, and Frank Reddington. Kelly attended Lauralton Hall in Milford, CT.
She graduated cum laude from Loyola University Maryland with a BA in Elementary Education. Her strong sense of adventure was evident while studying abroad in Florence, Italy, and continued while teaching in Spain. She then moved to New York City, and graduated summa cum laude from Fordham University with a Masters degree in Education/Childhood Literacy. Kelly's strong work ethic and dedication to helping others made her a beloved elementary school teacher at The Academy of St. Joseph in Greenwich Village. In her free time, Kelly loved exploring all that the city had to offer with her wide network of friends. She radiated an innate kindness toward everyone she met, and she chose to see the best in any situation. She was instantaneously likable with her unwavering positive energy.
She was a fiercely loyal friend. Kelly was always quick to laugh, which is why we will always remember her one in a million smile. As a member of a very large family, Kelly was and always will be beloved. Family was everything to her. She spent some of her happiest times with her cousins, skiing at Okemo Mountain, vacationing with them on Block Island, and always looking forward to seeing them at the next holiday or family gathering. Her greatest joy was her time spent with her immediate family. Whether she was running miles up hills on Block Island with her father, shopping, enjoying long lunches and traveling with her mother, or laughing with her brothers, she enjoyed her time with her close and loving family more than anything.
