Mrs Shirley Rainger, beloved wife of the late Stuart Rainger, of Fairfield, CT passed peacefully away Tuesday morning, October 24, 2017. She was 101. Born on February 23,1916 in Seymour, Shirley was the daughter to the late Mrs. Eva and Dr. Galusha H. Wilber. In addition to her devoted husband, Stuart of 53 years and her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her sisters; Ruth Lindlau, Sun City, FL, Bette Woods, Fairfield, CT, and Eve Williams, Orange, CT. She is survived by her loving son Jay Lane and his wife Leona, of Shelton, CT as well as several nieces and nephews. Shirley's long life was filled with happy times, wonderful memories, and great adventures. Family voyages aboard The Seaber II, a classic 1941 Elco, included most ports in Long Island and Block Island Sounds. But she called Fayerweather, Pequonnock, and East End Yacht Clubs home. She was currently a flag member of East End Yacht Club. Frequent travelers, Stu and Shirley also loved cruising, having taken well over 75 cruises. Shirley worked as a nurse in her father's chiropractic office and later worked with various jewelry companies as well as being a great mom and homemaker. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service in her honor Sunday, November 12, 2017 at 2 PM at East End Yacht Club, 104 Bay St, Bridgeport CT.
