Mildred Tabak Smith, age 84, of the Black Rock section of Bridgeport, wife of the late Edward Smith, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017. Born in Stratford on July 11, 1933, daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Hrasch Tabak, Mildred was a Black Rock resident for most of her life. Millie enjoyed watching the UCONN Women's basketball, the NY Mets and knitting. She especially loved the times that she cared for her grandsons. Survivors include her son, John A. Smith, daughters Pamela LaFleur and her husband James and Judy Smith, all of Bridgeport she leaves behind her grandsons Andrew and Alexander LaFleur, sisters in law Betty Smith and Beverly Tabak, a brother in law Jack Sullivan as well as several nieces, nephews and her little " Best Friend ", Husky. She was predeceased by her son, James, brothers Andrew, John and Alexander Tabak and sisters Marion Sullivan, Ann Karpinowich and Dorothy Picone.
