Sam shared the news of Connie's death with me today. Connie and I go back about 25 years--I followed her wherever she worked and she kept my hands and toes sparkling for my corporate training work. I knew her when she battled cancer the first time and was persistent and victorious. She also was determined that her 3 sons get a solid education and work in the professions. I followed their growth and development and, like Connie, I'm proud of their work and their achievements.
Connie and I also shared a love of Broadway shows, books, art and culture. And both of us had Brooklyn roots. Bay Ridge for me. Mom was from Sunset Park and Gram was from Williamsburg.
Connie, I'm sad to see you leave us yet I know through you and through others in my life the toll of a disease and when it's time, it's time. May you Rest in Peace knowing that you left your touch upon this world just as you intended.

Betty Woehr, Retired Dir. of Volunteer Services, Riverview Medical Center posted a condolence
Sunday, October 1, 2017
My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Illluzzi family. I first met Connie when she gave me a weekly manicure, while I was working at Riverview Medical Center. I would leave my office once a week and go to the shop where Connie worked. She ofter shared about her boys and how proud she was of them. She told me of their schooling at CBA. She also shared her wonderful stories about trips to the Super Bowl. Shortly thereafter Frank came to Riverview to do his "Christian Service" as required by CBA. Frank and I shared often and he told me about his dream to become a Doctor. I also remember him working in the Emergency Room of Riverview. I am so happy to know that Frank is now a MD. Later John came in to volunteer. I was always so impressed by the Illuzzi family and the wonderful mother Connie was. Her passing is a real loss. My prayers are with you all as you continue to cherish her memory.
