Obituary of Deryl M. Haskard

Deryl M. Haskard, age 69, of Fairfield, beloved wife of John Haskard, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, September 19, 2017.

Born in Hartford to the late Dominic and Elizabeth Falletti Bartone, Deryl graduated from East Catholic High School in Manchester and Bay Path College with a degree in medical administration. She lived in Fairfield for 36 years and was an active member of St. Pius X Parish and the PTA when her children attended school. Deryl was an athlete her entire life and was very accomplished in tennis, golf, and skiing, and was a member of the Black Rock Yacht Club for many years. Always willing to volunteer, Deryl was on the Board of Directors of the Fairfield Christmas Tree Festival for over 25 years and decorated the Burr Homestead displaying her artistic talents. She loved to travel and took great pleasure in going to New York City to see Broadway plays. Most of all in life, Deryl loved her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband of 40 years, John, Deryl’s memory will be cherished by her daughter, Danielle Ascione, and her husband, David, of Baltimore, MD; her son, Nicholas Haskard, and his fiancée, Tracy Maclaughlin, of East Boston, MA; grandchildren, Dominic and Sisley Ascione; a sister-in-law, Kathy Bartone, of Glastonbury, wife of Deryl’s late brother, Douglas Bartone; and many nieces and nephews.
