"Madame Maddock" was an inspiration to me. She was my French teacher at Tomlinson Junior High School in Fairfield, and through her, I completely fell in love with the French language. After continuing to learn French through high school, I majored in French in college, spent a year abroad in Paris, and speak the language as much as I can to this very day, decades later. I will always remember her poise, smile, and patience. I am so sad to hear of her passing and am sending thoughts of peace to you. Avec tristesse, - "Laure" Kmetzo Chadbourne
