Obituary of Richard M. Franklin

Richard M. Franklin, age 81, of Fairfield, beloved husband of Carole Stewart Franklin, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia on April 2, 1939, he was the son of the late Richard and Florence Bavington Franklin. A Fairfield Town resident for many years, he had worked for over 40 years in the Newsprint business.where he began at Domtar and retired as the Vice President of Sales for Garden State Paper Company. Richard enjoyed playing golf, fishing, curling and was an avid reader. He was always there to lend a helping hand or give advice and was a friend to all and will be truly missed by all who knew him. A loving husband, father and grandfather will be forever in our hearts. In addition to Carole, his loving wife of 58 years, he is survived by his children, Murray Franklin and his wife Felicia of Key Largo, Florida and Heather Pofok and her husband Mark of Oxford, he leaves behind his grandchildren Elena Pofok and Jay Franklin as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Carol McEwing and her husband Keith and a brother in law John Stewart. Services were held privately.
