My fondest memory of Vera/OMA, were the frequent stopovers with food when her 3 granddaughters were little. She was always extremely generous not only to us, but to anyone who crossed her path. An anonymous woman put her recipe in the paper once which so excited and pleased her. It read “ The best banana nut bread recipe ever, by Ivanka Brkic”
I have fond memories of her Sunday meals, birthday, graduation, Christening cakes and her daughters wedding cake. She took such pride in them; as she should.
She loved her family and her religion. Education was very important to her. She worked many jobs to put her 3 successful, professional children through Catholic schools. The one regret she had for herself was never being able to continue her own education.
However, most of all, my greatest thanks to her for my incredible, greatly missed husband Paul; the light of my life.
For the peace you never experienced in life, Vera, may you now live in peace and happiness for all eternity in heaven.
