Hugh was a dear and beloved friend, and my favorite storyteller. We shared a love of reading aloud to each other, a love that he continued to share with his children.
Every time we spent seemed a fun and memorable adventure- lots of unforgettable stories, and I shall miss his presence here on earth terribly.
My wish is that his friends, and especially his family, find solace in happy memories of him, his easy smile, and his beautiful, mischievously twinkling eyes, and especially in the love and friendship he shared with us.

Please accept our deepest condolences for such a tragic loss. In sharing a professional relationship, one was always struck by Hugh’s passion and energy. His absence will be felt deeply by many. In his honor may we all strive to bring even a small dose of his passion and commitment to our daily endeavors. Rest In Peace.

I had the incredibly good fortune of being Hugh's friend for over a decade. We had so many good laughs and experiences that it's difficult to recount them all. He had a brilliant mind and a great sense of humor. He was also a very intense person that possessed an intellectual passion for just about everything. He loved to sail and it seemed like he was most happy when at his Maine home, particularly with his children. We also had a blast skiing together. He always went out of his way to introduce me to his New York friendship circle and I am very grateful for those introductions, many of whom have become dear friends over the years. In between the fun times outside of work, we also really enjoyed bantering about our industry, the business world and what opportunities would come next. I will miss him very much.

So sorry to hear of this. I remember hanging out with you and Jack in Lower School playing Pokemon cards and thinking you were the coolest for doing that with us. Also had good times at the Father/Son Athletic Dinners in Upper School... always was happy to see you around 'Wick campus. I will be praying for you and your family.

I had the pleasure of spending my UMass years in Hugh's inimitable company. He was a renaissance man before that term was fashionable, and far ahead of his time. The man was fearless, yet thoughtful. Hugh drank deep from life's cup, and brightened every room he entered. We have lost a true original, and the world is lesser for it. Sleep in peace, Brother Hugh, and may God rest your ample soul.

Hugh, you will be very missed. You made my elementary, junior high, high school and college years so much more enjoyable because you were such a big part of them. I was not the most popular kid in high school, but your all inclusive personality always welcomed me as one of the gang, no matter what. I will always be forever thankful to you for that. Memories of my childhood are so much happier because you were my good friend. May your spirit still fly with the endless exuberance you showed in life, and may your soul recognize the love and admiration that we all have for you here on earth. Thanks Hugh, you were a true friend that I will always love and miss.
