It is with great sadness that the family of John J. Smyers, of Stratford, announces his passing from Covid-19.
Johnny, also known as Johnny O and Johnny Bravo, was a member of the Teamsters Local 191 Union and a truck driver for O&G, Hi-Ho Oil Company, and Red Coach before his retirement. He loved riding his Harley, eating, and hanging around with his family.
His memory will be lovingly remembered by his siblings, Steven Smyers, and his loving partner, Catherine Menard, of Stratford, Sandra Macauda, and her husband, David, of Stratford, and Barbara Smyers, of Stratford; his daughter, Jennifer Hatrick; grandkids, Shayla, Anthony, and Shaun Burian; a niece, Theresa Smyers, and her loving partner, Gus Curcio, and family, Kaylee Curcio, Nathanial Smyers, Ally Curcio, Marissa Curcio, Gustave Curcio, II; a niece, Katrina Mckinney; niece, April Schulte, and her family, Autumn, Sophia, and DJ.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 14, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Interment will follow at Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may greet the family on Monday morning from 9:30 until the time of services.
