Joan was the sweetest woman. I first met her at a knitting class at the Fairfield Senior Center. She then became the knitting guru for the Purls of Wisdom at the Fairfield Public Library. Everyone loved her and her stories. She was kind and patient to all and was a wonderful teacher. I will miss this dear lady. Jane Siefert

Joan to this day is an inspiration and joy. It was a privilege to work with her and learn from her. Her spirit has touched me forever and I will always be reminded about setting priorities for family and friends. She often reminded me to stop, take a breath, and regroup by saying " Brown, this is not a 911 operation!" Dear family and friends of Joan - her spirit was very special and I am so blessed that I had the opportunity to walk in this world with her!
