I was sad to hear the loss of Richie, another one gone to soon. Although I haven't seen or talked to Richie in many years, I can remember us much younger, a time of fun and innocents like it was just yesterday. Ok well mostly innocent times (said with a smile and a Good memory of he and i) . Rest easy Richie. To My dear friend Tina, may you and all the family find strength and peace during this sad time. ❤️

My baby brother Rich,
From the time you where brought home from the hospital I sure tried hard to get rid of you. Because I was the baby, from steeling your bottles to my tubby baby butt sat on you with a pillow, but as time went on we both were inseparable. Playing outside riding our bikes & at times took my bike. Going on trails in the woods across the street from the house we grew up in. We use to wrestle & I won sitting on you once again. You gave me my nickname waba that came off a package of crackers called wasa, you said wasa for waba snakes. I called you prickly.John, you & I we played Simon says in the den, down stairs in the basement we did talent shows along with a game called hot piece & butter come & get your supper, I can still hear the nursery rhyme in my head. As time went on we became teenagers trying out Mom & Dad's patients oh boy all those times we look back & laugh about. The time Dad caught all three of us using the water pipe to the toilet in the basement to do chin ups I was the one to count while you & John compete who can do the most but we all got grounded from that. I remember when John gave you chocolate laxatives & uncle Teddy was babysitting us we was jumping on the fold out bed & you crap all down your leg. I'm going to miss everything about you Rich from your charming characters of the happy go getter to spasming out about things that became a nickname too spasm. You passing away & Dad two years ago our family has changed. I still can't wrap my head around this. Wishing for more time but we know that won't happen. But what I wish for you Rich is now your at peice along with Dad neither of you our not alone in Heaven you two will be watching over our family seeing us through are Journeys. I'll keep all the memories of our childhood alive in my heart. Your soul is shining bright in the Heaven's sky. Don't be a ball breaker up there & try not to give Zizzy hard time give Aunt Vita hugs & kisses from us along to everyone there with you. I love you always until we meet again..

It's with a very heavy heart I read his obituary and write this tribute. Richard Paulus - You were my first best friend, my longest best friend, and my favorite best friend. We've kept in touch ever since the 2nd grade in Oxford with both of us short guys always in the front row for class pictures - many, many fond memories growing up at your house, with Mom's cooking, and times with JP and Tina, sometimes ending up with scrapes and bruises. My first cigarette was with you, my first beer was with you... heck, my first vintage Ferarri underage joyride was with you!
We even went to High School together in Ansonia and have been through the highest of highs, and lowest of lows. I remember seniors chasing you down the hall, and everyone knew it had to be you they were chasing - most of the times it was because you were being a wise ass, but other times it was because you were sticking up for someone else - that's the kind of friend you were.
I once came to visit you in California and we rented a convertible to do the ultimate roadtrip from Long Beach to San Fran, to Vegas - wow, what fun times we had - talk about the "strip"! We also met up in FL once, where I lived, and we shook up Ft. Lauderdale beach like it was 1986 spring break... Each time I came home to CT for a holiday, you were the first person to pick me up to take out on the town(s). From keg parties in the woods, to Silver Sands beach and Milford Rec - I'm still not sure which of us won the "getting the most phone numbers" game. Boy oh boy, I'll miss you bro.
My mom and sister also are saddened by this news of "Eddie Haskell's" passing, and also wish eternal happiness for you and your heartbroken family.
This one really hurts more than any other.
I love you brother, rest in peace

Dear Mrs. Paulus,
May the strength and love of your son surround you of his spirit. It’s been some time I last spoke with your son, however, Richie will be remembered for his kind smile, thoughtful, helpful an generous ways—his creativity and gifted trades were amazing and will always live on and be remembered. May his soul continue to shine through in ways that you may see and feel to help you and your family heal.
Sincere condolences,
A friend, Lynn L. Bpt
