Lainey, I shall always value our friendship. We met when you and Rink moved in to Dickinson Ter., and it was a gift to us. Your infectious smile, willingness to do for everyone won our hearts. Your Sunday am call, "Do you want some pancakes, I just made them/" You were my shopping Guru- (you know I hated to shop) and you always knew the sales, and had all the right coupons. You had a green thumb, which I was envious of, and loved showing off your plants. When I walked Lefty at night, and we got to your driveway, he always turned up and ran to the garage door to get in. He knew he had lots of loving, pats, biscuits and his own little blanket to lay on. Your love of your family was so evident and made everyone smile. I miss our daily phone calls and what was going on. Jim and I always felt that we had known you both for a long time.
Rink, Chad and Brett, I send my thoughts and prayers for you and know that I am thinking of you and the family on this day of celebration for Lainey.
Love Marilyn Lawless

I was so shocked to read Elaine's obituary in the paper this morning. My heart goes out to Rink and your family. Always a wave and big smile, even when driving by when I was out in the yard. Elaine's smile would brighten up anyone, and is etched in my mind forever. Your lifelong partner will always be with you Rink. May she rest in peace.

Dear Rink, Chad and Brett,
I just heard today that Elaine has passed. I am so saddened by this news. I had texted her in late February to see if we could meet when we were to be in Jupiter but she was going to your family get together in North Carolina that weekend. We met and became fast friends at New Britain General Hospital in January, 1970 when Brett and David were born. When she received her hairdressing license I became her client until the day she retired. Loving and caring for others was truly her passion and I feel so blessed to have been a recipient of her love and concern. Rink, you were the light of her life and she was so proud of Chad and Brett and their families. There are no words that can take away the pain and grief you feel. Know that our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

Rink, Chad and Brett,
We were so sorry to hear of Elaine's passing. Please except our entire families sympathies and sincere condolences. All of you are in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
Keep all the great memories close at heart for they will get your through the difficult days ahead.
I have many fond memories of Elaine. She was such a happy go lucky soul, always sporting a smile. Just a simple wave and a smile as she passed by me working road jobs or conversations at Johnny's Market made my day. I often asked myself what made her so happy and bubbly and knew it was her family and friends, that was her life. She really was a people person and touched so many of us with friendship, memories, experiences and most of all her genuine, unconditional love - that zest for life, she definitely left her mark on what we call earth.
Rink I can remember back in the day working for you and dad. From the balcony of the Prospect Street homestead, Elaine would send off the work crew with a smile and a " Have a great day guys " .
We will all miss her but the Lord has called her home. The empty void must be filled with the great memories however few or many we experienced with her. Anybody who knew Elaine should know they were truly blessed to have her in their lives for the time they did.
Continue to speak of her often, carry on the special traditions with the family and most of all never ever forget what she meant to any of us. Talk and pray to her, she will hear you because she has been given everlasting life.
Elaine I wont say good bye my friend but I'll say see you on the other side. I thank you for your friendship over the years and for the smiles and laughs along the way.
God Bless you and your Family and may he hold you all in the palm of his hand.

Lainey got me to try belly dancing and the Passion Play at St. Thomas. I got her to run a 5k.
We both worked out at the Y, and went to the beach on our day off. We loved Jim Dandy Sundaes at Friendliest after our work outs.
She was my friend then my hairdresser and protected me from myself with DIY hair products.
We painted Soft Touch Salon when she wanted a change.
She was lucky at the casino and loved the breakfast buffet.
We both had a relationship with food, lol.
She was the first one at your side when something happened. She was like that with everyone she knew.
She was Daddy’s girl. She loved Rink so, her boys and grandkids.
Hers was a life well-lived.

I met Elaine many years ago when my sister dated Chad. I remember her being such a beautiful woman and so sweet to everyone she met. Later on, Elaine became a hairstylist to many of my family members. She even did my sister’s Laura hair for her wedding. She looked beautiful on her special day. Elaine always had a smile on her face and made you feel so special. She also cut my mom and aunts hair as well. She was such a beautiful person inside and out. She lit up a room when she walked in. The way that Chad always spoke of his mother, made me want to be that kind of mother to my boys. I wish her family peace and love and the knowledge that their mom was so special to many people.
