Obituary of William Wilde Jackson

William Wilde Jackson, age 64, of Fairfield, entered into eternal life on April 29, 2017. Born in Cranston, RI on June 19, 1952, Bill was a longtime Fairfield resident. He graduated in 1970 from Roger Ludlowe High School in Fairfield, and in 1974 from Brown University in Providence, RI, where he received a B.S. in Environmental Engineering, later finishing his education with a M.B.A. from the University of Bridgeport. Bill had worked in instrumental engineering with firms in Pennsylvania and Connecticut, was a certified tax preparer, and shared his extensive knowledge as a substitute teacher with the Fairfield and Bridgeport School Systems. Bill took great pleasure in the outdoors and outdoor adventures, including skiing, hiking, camping, biking, swimming, windsurfing, and more. He was a New York Yankees fan since the age of six and enjoyed traveling with his friends and family both internationally and throughout the United States. Bill's memory will lovingly be remembered by his sister, Janet J. Amos, and her husband, Jeffrey, of Sebastian, FL; nephew, William A. Amos, and his wife, Holly, and great-nephew, Dexter, of Anaheim, Ca; nephew, Robert A. Amos, of Athens, GA; and his longtime companion, Martha Ruther, of Darien. He was predeceased by his parents, William M. Jackson and Mary R. Jackson. Friends are invited to visit with his family on June 17, Saturday from 10:30- 11:30 AM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. At 11:30 AM, a memorial service celebrating Bill's life will be held and a reception in Darien will follow.
