Obituary of Michael Baldyga

Michael Baldyga, age 63 of Easton, entered into eternal life suddenly on January 10, 2020. Born in Bridgeport, Michael was the son of Raymond Peter Baldyga and Eleanor Sembrot Baldyga. Michael was a 1974 graduate of Joel Barlow High School and Penn State College, a CT State Scholar recipient, and a long time business executive for MBI in Norwalk for over 30 years. Michael cared deeply about science, animals, art, books, travel and nature. Michael was brilliant and would eagerly discuss clouds, stars, and moon phases. He was extremely knowledgeable of all kinds of plants and wildlife, in fact Michael was the ‘go to’ whenever a family member needed an answer pertaining to wildlife, flora or fauna and was fondly referred by family as the “professor”. Michael also had great musical talent, so much so that any musical instrument Michael came across he could successfully play, especially the piano and organ. Michael was humble, soft spoken, and had a positive outlook on life. He had an infectious laugh and smile that was unmistakable. In addition to his parents, his memory will be cherished by his brothers, Ray Baldyga and his wife, Judy of Easton, Larry Baldyga of Fairfield and Mark Baldyga and his partner, Kelly McCarthy, of Newtown. Michael will also be cherished by several nieces and nephews, Ann Baldyga, Jane Skalkos-Baldyga, Christopher Baldyga, Shawn Baldyga, Jennifer Grega, and life long cherished friends Jenifer Greenwell and David Attenberg. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 17, 2020 at 11 a.m. Directly at Holy Family Church 700 Old Stratfield Road in Fairfield. His Burial will follow at Lawncroft Cemetery in Fairfield. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home 1209 Post Road in Fairfield Center.
