Shirley Doolan Gadacy, age 93, of Fairfield, wife of the late Sandor (Sam) Gadacy, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2019. Born in Hartford, Shirley had lived in Bridgeport for many years before moving to Fairfield 45 years ago. Shirley had met her husband Sandor at Bridgeport's Ritz ballroom and were married for 65 years.She had worked for the Fairfield School system for many years until her retirement. Mrs. Gadacy was a longtime member of the former Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church of Bridgeport and more recently Holy Family Church. She is survived by her son, Sandor H. Gadacy and daughter Karen Ann Gadacy, both of Fairfield and will be greatly missed by her little "Best Friends" Danny, Maggie and Mickey. In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was predeceased by her son, David H. Gadacy and a sister Theresa (Honey) McCollum. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 am directly at Holy Family Church, 700 Old Stratfield Rd.,Fairfield with burial to follow in Mt. Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. There will be no prior calling hours. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ct. Humane Society. Arrangements in the care of the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home.
