Obituary of Neil W. Groglio

On August 10th, 2019, Neil Groglio, of Westport CT, hailing from Rye NY, passed away at the age of 65, surrounded by his loving family. Neil was born to Theresa and Gerald Groglio in 1953. He graduated from Rye High School and later Pace University, before founding and operating numerous small businesses throughout his life. In 1983 he met the love of his life, Marcia. For the next 35 years they shared their life and love, taking turns telling one another how lucky they felt to be married to each other. In 1993, Neil and Marcia joyfully welcomed daughter, Kelly, into their loving family. For the next 26 years Neil wholeheartedly dedicated himself to the role of dad, in addition to devoted husband.

Neil was many things to many people. He was an accomplished entrepreneur, an avid golfer, a big Beatles fan, a Jets fanatic, a mentor to many, a coach for kids, an animal lover, a caring friend, an insightful individual, a truly wonderful husband, an inspiring father, and an even better dad. He was a man of humble greatness, both down-to-earth and impressive all at the same time. Those who knew him best, often marveled at his wit and work ethic. His strong sense of integrity, good humor, and decisive nature lead him to achieve tremendous success in his life. He never revelled in the material but rather celebrated the simple joys in life - a beautiful view, shooting under par, a nice fire in the open night air, the company of good friends. He loved to bring people together, encouraging all to enjoy good times with good people. Unafraid to be true to himself, he lived his life exactly how he wanted to, or as Frank Sinatra would say, "I did it my way…"

Neil is preceded in death by his father, Gerald, his mother, Theresa, and his brother, Gerald Jr. He is survived by his wife, Marcia, his daughter, Kelly, his sister Kathy, his two God-children, Lauren and Johnny, his nephew CJ, his numerous cousins, and the many many friends he made along the way.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on September 7th at Church of the Resurrection, Rye, NY. He will be greatly missed and forever loved by many.
