Obituary of Francis Raymond Fulop
Francis " Frank " Raymond Fulop, age 71, of Fairfield, beloved husband of Margaret Kolaric Fulop, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2019.
In addition to Margaret, his loving wife of 48 years, Frank's memory will be cherished by his daughters, Julie Fulop (husband Sean Reilly), Andrea Fulop, all of California; his siblings Irene Jackiewicz (husband Chet) of South Carolina, Margaret Scaringella of Florida; his mother in law Julia Bohnec Kolaric; his brothers in law, Marvin Kolaric, Michael Kolaric (wife Barbara); nieces and nephews, Cynthia Ambrosey (husband Leon) and Theresa Jackiewicz, Michael (wife Julie), Anthony (wife Young), Joanne (fiance' Joseph) Scaringella, Alan, Stephen and Michelle Fulop, Amanda Kolaric, Anthony and Rhonda Kolaric. In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by his twin brother, Stephen J. Fulop Jr, sister in law, Ina Kolaric, niece, Jessica Kolaric and his father in law Roman Kolaric.
Born in Bridgeport on February 15, 1948, son of the late Stephen J. Fulop Sr and Irma Samu Fulop, Frank resided in Fairfield for most of his life. He was a United States Army combat Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War, and received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star as well as many other service medals and was a member of the USO. A longtime parishioner of St. Emery's Church, Frank received his Associates Degree in Business from Housatonic Community College and successfully owned and operated Monroe Spirits until his retirement. A talented musician and numismatist, Frank enjoyed hunting, spending time outdoors, and truly loved sharing meals with family and friends. Remembered as a loving husband and father, he will also be dearly missed by his extended family and the many people he touched in his life.
Funeral services will take place on Tuesday at 11 am in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. His interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery with Military Honor observed. Calling hours will be held in the Funeral Home on Monday from 4-8 pm.
