Obituary of James David Christie

Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

James D. Christie, age 78, devoted husband of 51 years to Ann May (nee Zenorini), passed away peacefully after courageously battling leukemia on December 20, 2020.

His memory will be cherished by his family including his son, Ross Christie, Esq. and daughter, Robyn Lewis (Thomas Higley); his grandchildren Chase and Emma Lewis; brothers Robert (Carole) and Russell (Gail); nephews Robert Christie and Dr. Andrew Christie; niece Heather Woods; several cousins including “Windy” Theresa Farina, Jean Fritz, Donald (Ruth) Jack and dear friends Winlow and Marian Heard and John and Karla Ohl.  Born in Bridgeport, CT to the late James and Natalie Christie (nee Kisselbrack),

Jim worked at Norden Systems/United Technologies in Norwalk, CT for 32 years in Quality Control as an inspector, supervisor and manager.  While at Norden Systems he worked on several high profile projects including J Star and numerous space shuttle programs. Before retiring to Cherry Tree, PA, Jim also spent 10 years working in Quality Control at Memry Corp in Danbury, CT.  Jim will be remembered fondly for his love of the outdoors, especially vegetable and flower gardening, fishing, hunting and beekeeping.  He had a special talent for making the world’s best sausage and could often be found tinkering on his tractor or scouting for deer.  Jim loved travelling with family and was fortunate to spend time in Alaska, California, Mexico, Bermuda, numerous National Parks and made several trips up and down the East Coast over the years.  He treasured time spent with family and especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and giving them tractor rides.
